About Irvine Ranch Market
Irvine Ranch Market is a specialty food store in Costa Mesa, California. It is listed at 2651 Irvine Ave, Costa Mesa, CA 92627, which places it among the local businesses of Costa Mesa that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Google also lists it under grocery store, supermarket, which is worth knowing if you are comparing several options in the area.
Store size varies enormously, from a small corner grocery with a few aisles to a full supermarket chain location in Costa Mesa with a bakery, seafood counter and food court under one roof. Sales and promotions are often posted in-store or in a weekly flyer rather than online, so prices listed on a website may be out of date. Seafood markets sell live and on-ice product and can usually clean or prepare fish on request for a small fee. Specialty food stores in California may focus narrowly on one category, like a butcher, a rice and dry goods shop, or an import store, so calling ahead to confirm stock for a specific item saves a wasted trip.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 7:30 am–8 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (949) 631-4404. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, irvineranchmarketoc.com.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.4 out of 5 from 385 reviews, which is a strong result for a specialty food store in Costa Mesa and suggests consistent service.
Costa Mesa is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Costa Mesa is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

This is my favorite store in Orange County. It has an amazing selection of products for every taste, and the bakery is especially delicious. I’m also happy that you can now find a variety of Ukrainian food in the freezer section from a local producer - holubtsi (staffed cabbage), varenyky (pierogi), and even borscht. I’m truly grateful that they support small family businesses

This POKE BAR is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Elsewhere, I only order salmon from poke bowl restaurants as it is usually safe from the chewy tendon sinews that cheap, poorly cut sashimi or raw fish has. The salmon here was labeled “salmon” but it was actually “spicy salmon” covered in chili oil which I was not prepared for AND I couldn’t even chew through it due to the cheap cut. I actually spit it out and luckily saved it because when I went to ask for a refund, the manager Raul would only refund me what the bowl still weighed. So I paid $22 for some avocado and bean sprouts. I was told the poke comes pre marinated and now I understand why it’s covered in oil spices. The fish TASTED like fish (salmon poke does not taste fishy) and was no doubt too old to be served. I am lucky to not have gotten food poisoning, as I saw someone experienced in a previous review, I’m sure because I did spit it out. The staff here were extremely disappointing in handling my complaint as I could have made it a way bigger deal with the mislabeling of the food provided - a major violation of food safety laws.

My wife and I hit Coffee Dose a couple times a week, and every time we walk by The Market next door, we always say we need to check it out. We finally did, and it honestly surprised us. We expected maybe a sandwich bar and a couple things, but it turned out to be a full-on grocery setup with local goods, snacks, drinks, and even some tasting samples from OC brands. It had way more variety than we thought, and it was super clean and well laid out. We went mainly for the sandwiches, and I grabbed the Godfather which I heard was their top pick, and my wife got the Torpedo on sourdough with just turkey and green sprouts. She said it was solid but needed something extra, so she added some of the olive oil and vinegar they have in the store and that helped a lot. My Godfather though? I threw on some jalapenos and that thing was loaded with flavor. Every bite was packed and the bread was crunchy in all the right ways. Easily one of the better sandwiches I’ve had in the area. We also tried some seasoned local tortilla chips they had and those were legit too. The poke bar was a fun surprise. Full spread with ahi tuna and toppings and the quality held up even though it had been sitting out.

I originally rated this place 5 stars but after going a few times I have to re-rate it. 1 star just because the deli and pastry place is good. But once I went and grabbed a juice and when I drank it in my car I realized it was expired. The last time I went, I grabbed almond butter and there was massive amounts of MOLD on it. I checked all the containers and there was mold on all of them (i uploaded videos of it). So I went to grab strawberries...and they were all old and rotting. Idk how this is considered a luxury grocery store. 😳 I've been to way cleaner stores with better options. Its definitely a bummer.

Excellent neighborhood grocery store with an abundant selection of groceries, deli offerings, baked goods, and house essentials. While this store isn't as large as your neighborhood Safeway/Whole Foods, this grocery store has a ton of unique food items that are made locally and cannot be found elsewhere. There is plenty of parking (although it can probably get full on the weekends). Prices are fair, but slightly higher - possibly due to the area and the fact that this isn't a big chain. They have produce, a meat and seafood department, groceries and home goods, beer and wine, and basically everything a larger chain may have. Overall, this is an excellent grocery store if you need to fill your home grocery needs, you're looking for something unique and different. or you're just looking to come for lunch or an easy dinner.
